September 14 | 11am–1pm | Seaport Square | Free
Important Update
Due to the potential for rain in New York City, the Seaport Kids x Back to School Bash has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 14, 11am–1pm.
Join the Seaport Museum, the Seaport, Mommy Poppins, and Brooklyn Bridge Parents at the neighborhood Seaport Kids x Back to School Bash!
The Museum will be offering families and guests of all ages the chance to learn maritime skills that sailors have honed throughout history and continue to develop today in their time at sea and at port. Then, put your newfound skills to the test in fun-filled challenges. You can even make it a friendly competition among your group if you’d like!
Families and guests of all ages are invited to stop by the Museum’s booth to dive into maritime history by learning essential skills that sailors have used for centuries, and still practice today! Stop by to learn how to coil a line like a pro—just as sailors do to keep the deck safe and ropes tangle-free—and follow 3D models to master tying a common sailor’s knot for when strength and reliability are key.
No registration required, stop by anytime from 11am to 1pm to participate.
